Home from the Grand

Well, we are home from the Grand 2008 and that always seems like another shooting year has almost slipped by. Thanks to everyone who shopped with us at our store in Sparta, Il. at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex. Even though the crowd seemed light our sales were good considering the economy. The weather was almost perfect for the Grand week so that probably helped keep people shopping and shooting. I want to congratulate our year supply of ammo winner. Mr Jarrick Hutchison and the Huntsville Ar. High School shooting team. They were the lucky winners of 52 cases of ammo thanks to Remington, Winchester, Federal, ATA, and Gamaliel Shooting Supply. This promotion has went over very well and hopefully we can offer it again next year. We all really appreciate the shooters who bought their ammo on the grounds to support those of us who continue to try and support the shooting sports. We have posted some pictures in our photo gallery too if you want to look. You just might see someone you know. I also want to thank my crew for staying away from home 19 days and working so hard again this year. In our store was Renea, Tina, Jaime, Duane, and my two sons Grayson and Gibson ran the shell house with the help of our good friend John Dobbs. My father Garon and myself stayed around the store mostly helping out where needed. Also a big thanks to the crew who stayed in Gamaliel and kept things going there even though they were very short handed. After all was said and done I think everyone who attended this years Grand would have to agree it was a very good shoot. We all look foward to seeing you next year. 2008 Grand Greetings

Hello from the Grand American Trapshoot in Sparta Il. We have been here since july 29th getting ready to open our store on 8/1/08. The Sctp Nationals was great and we met another group of wonderful young men and women. Thanks to all of the coaches and parents who make it possible for them to participate in this great sport. We have put a lot of pictures in our photo gallery on our web site so check them out. We will add more as the days go on. July update

Well, we made it through another 4th of July. We hope everyone had a nice holiday. Sorry it has been a while since I wrote, but it seems we are always going in different directions around here. Congratulations to our June $50 gift card winner, Christopher Radde from LA. Thanks for your order. We have been to Sparta, IL, to the Mid West Skeet Shoot, which Duane and Grayson worked for us, and also just finished the KY State Trap Shoot, where our long time friend, Jimmy Grider, worked for us, giving us a break from traveling for a weekend. Our next shoot is the Southern Zone Trap Shoot in Nashville TN, July 17-20, so if you need something let us know, and we will try to accommodate you. Lead has went down some more so maybe by the Grand time we can get a little better price. Keep checking with us for specials there, we are working to get them posted on our web site soon. congrats/update

Good day to all. I want to congratulate Jonathon Litton of TN, our May winner of the $50 gift card for shopping online with us last month. Thanks Jonathon, for giving us the chance to help you. Also, our coyote contest was over June 1st, with several people helping our community out by participating. Tim Eaton won 1st place and Lenneth Jones won second. Thanks to the KY Farm Bureau for helping us with the Remington rifle Tim won and the Nikon binoculars Lenneth won. We will try and push a little harder this fall on getting more people involved.

Grayson and Jaime just got back from the TN State SCTP Trap Shoot, with a great weekend for all. There were over 1,000 young shooters who participated ,and as far as we could tell it all ran great at the Nashville Gun Club. Thanks to all you kids and parents and coaches for giving our sport the wonderful boost you have. This weekend, June 5th through the 8th, 2008, Gray and Jaime are back in Nashville for the TN State Trap Shoot. They are expecting 90 degree plus temps every day so they will earn their money this weekend! If you need something brought down just let us know, I will be going Saturday. Music City Open

Well it is tuesday may 13th and we are getting loaded up for the Music City Open trapshoot in Nashville Tn. this weekend. Grayson and Jaime will be there on friday morning ready to sell. If you need anything special give us a call and we will get it on the trailer for you. We are also getting ready for the SCTP State there in a couple of weeks and the Tn. state trap the following weekend. It looks like the SCTP crowd is going to be good and we hope the adults will show up too. With fuel and ammo prices so high we are keeping our fingers crossed that people can still participate in at least in a few of the events. US OPEN

Hello all, LaDonna and I just got back from the US Open trapshoot in Sparta, Il. Even though the weather didnt cooperate very well things ran pretty smooth. Thanks to all who stopped by and bought from us while we were there. I also want to congratulate our monthly winner Thomas Sulkowski from Ohio. He won the 50.00 gift certificate for odering online last month. We are going to be at the Nashville Gun club next weekend for the Music city500 trap shoot, so if you need something there let us know. With the fuel prices as they are we are not going to be able to go to as many shoots this year but hopefully we can catch you at the Grand. Things are still moving foward with our Gamaliel cup Tunica Shoot with online registration now open, and it seems like it is going to be a good one so try and come if you can. March 2008 Winner

Tn. turkey season is underway but so far the weather has not been that great with a lot of rain here on the Ky./Tn border. Our youth turkey season is this weekend April 5-6 2008, with our regular season opening April 12th. We will be posting some pictures in our photo gallery of those who are entered into our contest and harvest birds. If you haven’t signed up, there is still time for the Ky. one. It seems like there are plenty of birds this year so it should be a great season.

Our Gamaliel Cup-Nashville is still moving ahead with over 360 pre registered, it should be our biggest ever. We still have some spots available if you want to shoot but you need to hurry. Give us a call or go on-line to register.

Well another week has gone by getting us a little closer to Turkey and clay target season around here. We have our turkey contest open for sign up now through April 11th for Ky, hunters so if your in the area be sure to stop by. We are also having a coyote contest from April 1st thru May 31st. give us a call for details on that, it should be exciting. Renea is getting really busy with our READY,SET,PULL program for all you SCTP shooters with over 100 teams registered with us. If you dont know what this is give Renea a call or email her at renea.proffitt@gamaliel.com, and she will fill you in. We also got in our Remington R15 rifle for one of our prizes in the Triple Crown Series of our Gamaliel Cup Sporitng clay shoot and it looks great. Spring is here

Well Sping has finally arrived, although it doesnt hardly feel like it here in Ky. But that is typical Southern weather I suppose. We did meet over the weekend with Mike and Sandy Mize at the Willows Sporting Clays in Tunica. We have confirmed everything there with our shoot in July. It should be great with the same format as our other two shoots. I will try and get some more info on Gamalielcup.com soon, but if you can, you should try and be there. It will be fun! We have got several new spring items, on the web like hats t- shirts ect…so check us out. Thanks for listening, and as always let us know if we can help.
